Been awhile...

Been awhile since I posted any new paintings.  Finally, finished this one I've been working on for awhile...or maybe it's not finished yet...I'm not happy with the upper left corner and the paper's not taking much more OP.   Not sure about the top part of the leaf on the left side either...it has sunlight coming across it, but I don't I conveyed that very well.  Well, all part of learning!!

  2. Thanks Traci! It was fun doing a painting where I could really let the bright colors shine!

  3. Very nice. The problem I see here - outlines. Looks to me, you are working with OP sticks, not so much with tools. You may want to use one of those silicon shapers or event a brush with regular oil solvent to make outlines filled with color and more clear. You are good with oils, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Looks like good painting to me, just need some extra finishing touch to it. :-)

  4. I mostly use Tortillons and sometimes a small silicon shaper...just not real good with it yet. I've been wondering how to get rid of those lines, I can never seem to blend close enough to the other color to avoid those lines. I saw the pictures of you working on your Awakening piece and noticed one where you were using a brush and solvent. I'll have to try that myself. The Awakening painting you did was wonderful, by the way!! Thanks alot for that tip and your comments!
